Making Friends With Mountain Gorillas
National Geographic has republished, both online and in print, a wonderful article by Dian Fossey from 1970. I remember reading this article in a well-worn copy of the magazine I had a kid. I wanted to runaway to Africa and help her save the gorillas. Her tragic death in 1985 stunned me, and was a huge loss to the wonderful creatures she fought so hard to protect.
